Close Match Solar Simulators
We design and manufacture a range of world leading solar simulators that meet and surpass the IEC, ASTM and JIS international standards. Our close spectral match solar simulators are used across the globe in both research and development work as well as 24/7 production facilities and are regularly cited in the latest photovoltaic research literature.
Product support is very important to us. Training is provided at our premises where customers can take advantage of one-on-one tuition with the instrument designers and learn how to operate and maintain their tools. Extensive support via phone and email for the full lifetime of the instrument is included with every TS-Space Systems product.
You can see our range of solar simulators below. We can also design and build solar simulators for custom applications, please contact us with your requirements.
Unisim Series Solar Simulators
-
TS-Space Systems designed and built the first close-match solar simulator in 1997 and has been a leader in the field ever since.
Many of our customers have found the approximation of the sunlight spectrum in standard 'Class A' solar simulators to be unsatisfactory when accurate measurements are required. For applications where spectral match and control is critical, such as multi-junction solar cell testing, our close-match technology is invaluable.
-
Multi-source, continuous solar simulator
Multi-zone spectral control (1-4 zones specified at time of order)
Close match AM0 as standard (AM1.5 drop-in filters optional)
Spatial uniformity: Class A (+/-2% over nominal area)
Temporal stability: Class A (<1%, 0.15-0.6% depending on beam size)
Available in a range of beam sizes (60-300mm diameter)

Unisim ‘N Zone’ Solar Simulators
-
In 2012 TS-Space Systems announced the N-Zone solar simulator which builds on the success of the Unisim series and is designed for the accurate measurement of solar cells with >4 junctions.
As with all our Unisim solar simulators, they exceed the ASTM, IEC and JIS international standards for spectral match and temporal instability.
We work with many of the leading PV research groups around the world and our aim is to provide research tools to meet their requirements. The N-Zone was developed in response to the problem of accurately measuring multi-junction devices with >4 junctions.
The simulator delivers the same, world leading close-match AM0 and AM1.5 spectrum as our Unisim range but with 2-12 adjustable, fully independent spectral zones.
-
Multi-source, continuous solar simulator
Multi-zone spectral control (2 broadband zones with LED ‘boost’)
Smaller footprint than standard Unisim series
Close match AM0 as standard (AM1.5 drop-in filters optional)
Spatial uniformity: Class A (+/-2% over nominal area)
Temporal stability: Class A (<1%, 0.15-0.6% depending on beam size)
Available in a range of beam sizes (60-300mm diameter)
